Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the official Vacancy Notification under Advertisement No. 14/2026 (Dated: 18/08/2026) for the 4th Phase School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0) to fill 32,388 School Teacher vacancies across Bihar Government Schools. The recruitment is bifurcated into four stages: Primary Teachers (Class 1–5, 3,847 Posts, Basic Pay ₹25,000), Middle School Teachers (Class 6–8, 8,563 Posts, Basic Pay ₹28,000), Secondary Teachers (Class 9–10 / TGT, 3,877 Posts, Basic Pay ₹31,000), and Higher Secondary Teachers (Class 11–12 / PGT, 16,101 Posts, Basic Pay ₹32,000). Candidates must satisfy the prescribed eligibility of D.El.Ed./B.Ed. along with CTET/BTET Paper-I/II or Bihar STET Paper-I/II. Mandatory Exam-Day OMR Rules & Negative Marking Architecture

Statutory Rules Marks
5-Option OMR Protocol: Each objective question has options (A), (B), (C), (D), and (E). Candidate must darken ONE bubble only using blue or black ballpoint pen
Negative Marking Penalty: Deducts 1/3rd (0.33) marks for every wrong answer marked
Compulsory Option (E) Darkening: If a candidate decides NOT to answer a question, Option (E) MUST be darkened. Leaving all options blank (unmarked) will be treated as an incorrect attempt and penalized with 1/3rd mark deduction
Minimum Qualifying Percentage: General 40%, Backward Class (BC) 36.5%, Extremely Backward Class (EBC) 34%, SC/ST, Women & PwD 32%
Tie-Breaking Formula: In case of equal total marks (Part-II + Part-III), higher marks in Part-III Subject Paper breaks the tie. If still equal, higher marks in Part-I Language Paper breaks the tie, followed by candidate's age (older first), and alphabetical order of candidate's name as per Devanagari script
Official Commission Note: Per Clauses 11 & 12 of Advt. 14/2026: Single written examination comprising 150 Objective MCQs for 150 marks. Part-I Language (30 marks) is qualifying in nature (minimum 30% / 9 marks required). Merit list is prepared strictly based on Part-II & Part-III marks (120 marks). Each question has 5 options (A, B, C, D, E). If none of A, B, C, D is correct or candidate wishes to leave blank, Option E MUST be darkened. Leaving all bubbles blank attracts 1/3rd negative penalty. Minimum qualifying cut-off: UR 40%, BC 36.5%, EBC 34%, SC/ST/Women/PwD 32%. Guest Teachers receive 5 marks per academic year weightage (maximum 25 marks).
