The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj has officially published Advertisement No. 05/2026 (Assistant Teacher Primary, Urban & Assistant Teacher Attached Primary Selection Examination 2026) for 12,405 permanent Level-6 teaching vacancies across Uttar Pradesh. This landmark recruitment combines 11,508 vacancies of Assistant Teacher Primary (Urban Area) under the UP Basic Education Council across all 75 districts (Table-01) and 897 vacancies of Assistant Teacher Attached Primary in Non-Government Aided Secondary Schools (473 Boys/Balak Schools + 424 Girls/Balika Schools, Table-02). Clause 9-Ka & Official Syllabus PDF Structure: Single composite Offline OMR paper of 120 Multiple-Choice Questions carrying 360 Marks (2 Hours / 120 Minutes). Every correct answer awards +3 Marks and every wrong or multi-bubbled response deducts -1 Mark (1/3rd negative marking). Question Booklet is bilingual (English & Hindi) except Language questions.
Difficulty Standard Specified by UPESSC: Subjects 1 to 6 (GK/Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Language Hindi/Sanskrit/English, Science, Mathematics, and Environment & Social Study — total 92 Questions / 276 Marks) are tested up to Class 12 (Intermediate) standard; Subjects 7 to 10 (Teaching Skills, Child Psychology, Information Technology, and Life Skills/Management — total 28 Questions / 84 Marks) are tested at the D.El.Ed. Curriculum standard.
Cadre-1 Eligibility — Assistant Teacher Primary, Urban (11,508 Posts, Clause 7-1): Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University + Recognized 2-Year B.T.C. / D.El.Ed. / 2-Year BTC (Urdu) / Special BTC / RCI-approved 2-Year D.Ed. (Special Education) / 4-Year B.El.Ed. / NCTE 2002 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education + Passed UPTET or CTET (Paper-I, Primary Level Class 1–5).
Cadre-2 Eligibility — Assistant Teacher Attached Primary in Aided Secondary Schools (897 Posts, Clause 7-2): Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University + NCTE-recognized B.T.C. or D.El.Ed. + Passed UPTET or CTET (Paper-I, Primary Level Class 1–5).
Age Limit & Relaxations as on 01 July 2026 (Clause 6-Kha): For Urban Primary Teacher (11,508 Posts), age is 21 to 40 Years (+5 Years up to 45 Yrs for UP SC/ST/OBC; +15 Years up to 55 Yrs for PwBD/Divyang; up to 60 Years for Shiksha Mitra per Clause 6-Kha-ii-d). For Attached Primary Teacher in Aided Schools (897 Posts), age is 21 to 62 Years (superannuation limit per Clause 6-Kha-i-b).
Mandatory Cadre Preference & Gender Rules (Clause 2.5, 6-Gha & 12.1): Candidates must select their order of preference between Urban Primary and Attached Aided Primary while filling the online form (no change permitted after 15.10.2026). Male candidates cannot apply for Balika (Girls') Aided Attached Primary Schools (424 posts), whereas Female candidates are eligible for both Balak (473 posts) and Balika (424 posts) schools.
